Reflect on a time when you discovered a new perspective that completely changed how you viewed a person, group, or place. How did your previous “single story” shape your thoughts or actions?

Writing Prompt: One perspective that changed how I view a person was during my 8th-grade year. It was a time when we were coming back to in-person school. A few months before. My grandmother has passed away. I wanted to be stress-free and unbothered. It got to a point where I was failing almost all of my classes. However, never once did I want to ask for help. One day, I was talking to my teachers, and they made me realize I couldn't use that as an excuse anymore. Although it sounded a little harsh, I was blaming everything and everyone around me. However, in reality, it was just me. Due to that conversation. I was able to wake up and start doing my work, finding alternatives to pass this grade. This shaped me to focus on what is in front of me and make everyone around me proud. We're going to have our ups, downs, and very lows, but that should not stop us.

Summary: Today in class, we worked on a Common Lit assignment.

Reflection: Today, I learned that a single story is never the only story.
