In letters 6 -10, we see how Celie starts noticing the strength of people around her, like Shug Avery’s independence and confidence. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from?

writing prompt: At my church, there is this lady who sings as if it were heavenly. However, she also has this powerful, purposeful voice. Immediately, I took her as someone so inspirational and exactly where I would like to be one day. Every Sunday, I would look at her techniques, like when she breathes, how long she holds certain notes, how she holds the microphone, the way she fills in with the songs, etc. I knew in my mind I did not want to be just exactly like her, but use her techniques to get to her level in my own way. I think it is very important to use someone or something inspirational, not to envy and try to be like them, but to use that to make yourself different.

Summary: Today, we continue reading the book "The Color Purple."

Reflection: Today, I learned that having a role model is important. It helps you find your purpose, dreams, and goals. It is never to copy someone; it is to figure out who you are.
