Describe a hike, long walk, or outdoor experience you have had and explain what it was like physically and mentally. If you have never been on a hike, describe a time when you were outside your comfort zone or had to rely on yourself in a challenging situation. Explain what you learned from the experience.
Writing prompt: Whenever my family and I go to parks, we always walk the longest trail there. I remember we walked through a canyon in Columbus, Georgia. Personally, I do not like trails because I hate the feeling of being lost and having to mentally tell myself, "You're almost done." We were walking the trail, and I was already going in with negativity. Halfway there, it was the most beautiful sight of the canyon, so we stopped and took pictures. By that time, my feet were out of it, with blisters everywhere, and sleepy. I was getting annoyed and overstimulated by my siblings. However, I knew the only way out was to keep going, so that's what I did. I have not really been hiking; the closest thing to that will be walking trails. One time I had to get out of my comfort zone was definitely walking with a sweater on. It suddenly started to rain, and it was hot and humid outside. We were almost at the end of the trail, and I had to put my jacket on. It felt like when you're wearing soaking wet jeans. It was extremely uncomfortable; however, it will help prevent me from getting sick.
