Consider your experience reading The Color Purple (a fictional novel), Fences (a play/drama), and Wild (a nonfiction memoir). Which type of longer text did you enjoy the most, the novel, the play, or the memoir, and which did you find the most challenging? Explain your preference, describe what made that type of text more engaging or accessible for you, and reflect on how understanding your preference might influence how you approach future readings.

 Writing prompt: My experiences reading The Color Purple (a fictional novel), Fences (a play/drama), and Wild (a nonfiction memoir), the text I enjoy more was The Color Purple. The reason why is because it was more personal, I was able to feel the writers emotions why the fonts of the text and their language. Although it was a very meaningful, harsh, blunt book, that is was what got my attention. The challenging book to read and comprehend was Wild. The reason why is because you have to make various connections to the writers and yourself. It is definitely more of putting yourself in her shoes. Which can be hard because she struggled a lot of mental/emotional experiences. Having to be able to understand her to understand all the moments of the PCT. All three books were amazing however I still have to choose The Color Purples as my top choice. I was fascinated by how much my level of comfortability rose. It was a very mature audience book however I'm afraid books and just normal conversations like these, things that occur in the book, are not really talked about or seen in high school . I think its something normal and you can learn a lot. I like books that will genuinely have an impact to me, that will help me grow and learn. Due to me being able to make many inferences, I was able to make many predictions as well and that is something I enjoy because, the majority of the time, I am right. 

Summary: Today, my group and I presented our oral interactive presentations. In addition, group 5, 6, and 7 presented their's as well. 

Reflection: Today I learned about chapters 13, 14, 15 of Wild by my classmates.

 Writing Prompt: one time I was judged unfairly was being left out from a group of white girl. I have nothing against them but based of their facial expressions and actions towards me was different. We had to get into groups at random and learn something from each and every one of them. I joined this one group and since a few of them already knew each other they were open to other but not me. They would skip my turn and just look at me like if I just landed on this planet. Writing prompt:  Dear God,  Suddenly, my heart broke into pieces. Mr_____has all of nettie's letter she has written to me. Potentially, I did feel sympathy for the man. He has broken my heart. All this time, all these years, I could have heard back from my sister. To not feel alone, to not feel outnumbered, to not feel pain, anger, and most of all, love. I could have been out of this place with Nettie's help. I could have fought Mr.____ a long time ago. However.....I would have never met Shug Avery. I don't know how to feel, God, excited or angry. Is this a sin? Summary: Today in class, we continued to read independently  Reflection: Today, I learned that it is okay to feel emotions. Even tho you may not know what to do, feeling is an action too.

After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles

 Writing prompt: This book is definitely an interesting book I have ever read. I did not expect it to be such a strong and powerful message. I can feel Celie’s struggle in what to do in her situation. Experiencing rape at such a young age, she has a clear understand of what it is. Later her mother passes away, although she was not the best mother, she is left with her father that raped her and her sister. I honestly think this book already has me hooked and I can’t wait what happens next.  Summary today in class we took notes and began reading the story the color purple.  Reflection: I learned that letter tell a story too.
