Consider your experience reading The Color Purple (a fictional novel), Fences (a play/drama), and Wild (a nonfiction memoir). Which type of longer text did you enjoy the most, the novel, the play, or the memoir, and which did you find the most challenging? Explain your preference, describe what made that type of text more engaging or accessible for you, and reflect on how understanding your preference might influence how you approach future readings.

 Writing prompt: My experiences reading The Color Purple (a fictional novel), Fences (a play/drama), and Wild (a nonfiction memoir), the text I enjoy more was The Color Purple. The reason why is because it was more personal, I was able to feel the writers emotions why the fonts of the text and their language. Although it was a very meaningful, harsh, blunt book, that is was what got my attention. The challenging book to read and comprehend was Wild. The reason why is because you have to make various connections to the writers and yourself. It is definitely more of putting yourself in her shoes. Which can be hard because she struggled a lot of mental/emotional experiences. Having to be able to understand her to understand all the moments of the PCT. All three books were amazing however I still have to choose The Color Purples as my top choice. I was fascinated by how much my level of comfortability rose. It was a very mature audience book however I'm afraid books and just normal conversations like these, things that occur in the book, are not really talked about or seen in high school . I think its something normal and you can learn a lot. I like books that will genuinely have an impact to me, that will help me grow and learn. Due to me being able to make many inferences, I was able to make many predictions as well and that is something I enjoy because, the majority of the time, I am right. 

Summary: Today, my group and I presented our oral interactive presentations. In addition, group 5, 6, and 7 presented their's as well. 

Reflection: Today I learned about chapters 13, 14, 15 of Wild by my classmates.

Describe a time when you felt completely lost

 Writing Prompt: A time when I felt completely lost was when my grandmother passed away. In my culture, we value our grandmothers. She passed away during COVID due to heart failure. The reason I felt completely lost was that my mother was never home due to her work, as she was both the woman and the man of the house. Although my siblings were there, my grandma was my mother too. It felt like my whole heart was ripped from my chest. I did not eat for a few days; I did not want to leave myself room. I fell into depression. All I can do is stare and zone out. It was like that for about 2-3 months. I've never witnessed or been through a loss in my family, so it took a big toll on me. Till this day, I still feel like a piece of me left and died within me, but I did find peace in the darkness. Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone

 Writing prompt: One moment I had to step out of my comfort zone was to help my niece's friends shower. They were having a sleepover, and normally, before bed, they would take a shower. I normally shower my niece; however, since she had her friend. I had to shower her as well. I told my brother id she could do it, but she was busy cooking dinner. So, I helped the little girl shower. It was definitely a big No for me, but at the same time, it was a sacrifice I was willing to make.  Summary: Today in class, we finished our project. Reflection: Stepping out of your comfort zone is okay sometimes. I say this because when you step out of your comfort zone, you're putting yourself in a position you've never been in before. It can either go well or not. However, you at least now know.
