If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

 If I had to write a poem about my life right now, it would be about a storm. An ugly storm that is just passing by a long night. It makes many types of noises that may be super scary. However, in the end, there is a peaceful sound birds make and a shining sun shining through the park. There is always peace after a terrible storm. My life is like a storm. It can be light rain or super dramatically heavy. In the end, however, everything happens for a reason. There is peace, and you grab tightly to that peace. Before the next storm. howver if you're lucky, there won't be any. 


Summary: Today in class, we presented our projects on Chapter 6. 


Reflection: Today, I learned that I can express my emotions through writing like Cheryl Strayed.

 Writing Prompt: one time I was judged unfairly was being left out from a group of white girl. I have nothing against them but based of their facial expressions and actions towards me was different. We had to get into groups at random and learn something from each and every one of them. I joined this one group and since a few of them already knew each other they were open to other but not me. All this time, all these years, I could have heard back from my sister. To not feel alone, to not feel outnumbered, to not feel pain, anger, and most of all, love. I could have been out of this place with Nettie's help. I could have fought Mr.____ a long time ago. However.....I would have never met Shug Avery. I don't know how to feel, God, excited or angry. Is this a sin? Summary: Today in class, we continued to read independently  Reflection: Today, I learned that it is okay to feel emotions. Even tho you may not know what to do, feeling is an action too.

After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles

 Writing prompt: This book is definitely an interesting book I have ever read. I did not expect it to be such a strong and powerful message. I can feel Celie’s struggle in what to do in her situation. Experiencing rape at such a young age, she has a clear understand of what it is. Later her mother passes away, although she was not the best mother, she is left with her father that raped her and her sister. I honestly think this book already has me hooked and I can’t wait what happens next.  Summary today in class we took notes and began reading the story the color purple.  Reflection: I learned that letter tell a story too.
