Today we discussed why academic writing must reflect your own thinking and understanding rather than relying on artificial intelligence to generate your ideas. After learning about the expectations for authentic writing, reflect on why it is important for students to write essays in their own words.

 Writing prompt: it is important for student to write essays in their own words because for a teachers perspective, they are able to see where the student lies in writing and get to know the students real writing. To be able to see progress is trying to fix things, to get to learn their skills, and their comprehension of it. Another reason is because it is okay to ask for help. We must understand that we struggle in things because we are afraid to ask for help, we'd rather use AI for help. AI is only telling you what we want to hear, not actual reasoning and solutions on the rel world how to help. So students writing in their own words would help them get out of their comfort zone and ask for help. 

Summary: Today in class we watch a video about how AI is affecting school/universities and we answered questions about it. 

Reflection: Today I learned how AI affects many aspects of a students and teachers lives.

 Writing Prompt: one time I was judged unfairly was being left out from a group of white girl. I have nothing against them but based of their facial expressions and actions towards me was different. All this time, all these years, I could have heard back from my sister. To not feel alone, to not feel outnumbered, to not feel pain, anger, and most of all, love. I could have been out of this place with Nettie's help. I could have fought Mr.____ a long time ago. However.....I would have never met Shug Avery. I don't know how to feel, God, excited or angry. Is this a sin? Summary: Today in class, we continued to read independently  Reflection: Today, I learned that it is okay to feel emotions. Even tho you may not know what to do, feeling is an action too.

After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles

 Writing prompt: This book is definitely an interesting book I have ever read. I did not expect it to be such a strong and powerful message. I can feel Celie’s struggle in what to do in her situation. Experiencing rape at such a young age, she has a clear understand of what it is. Later her mother passes away, although she was not the best mother, she is left with her father that raped her and her sister. I honestly think this book already has me hooked and I can’t wait what happens next.  Summary today in class we took notes and began reading the story the color purple.  Reflection: I learned that letter tell a story too.
