Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?
Writing prompt: Writing similes and metaphors that reflect my struggles, growth, and resilience was very hard for me. I really had to think back of a few things that I never thought I would have to think about again. It really did help me be able to make connections from my life, deep memories and turn it into figurative language. I find similes and metaphors fascinating because it helps you compare things in your life to almost anything. Things like sea, storms, flowers, and etc. No matter what the case is, negative experience or positive, it was very hard for me to write any. However, I don't see that as a bad thing, I see it as moving on from things and opening up.
Summary: Today in class we wrote our own similes and metaphors about ourselves.
Reflection: Today I learned how to be able to grow/overcome things through writing.
