Why is drafting an essential step in the writing process rather than going straight to a final version? Use your own experience from this essay to explain how drafting improved (or revealed weaknesses in) your thinking.

 Writing prompt: Writing a draft, in my opinion, is writing down the first thing that is on your mind. Regardless of it being good or bad, it is a start that can be the head start to writing your full essay. Also, getting the feedback of how you can make your essay stronger. When I personally draft any essay, even though I know it is a draft, I put so much thought into it so that it is perfect. It is a good mindset however, the draft is not supposed to be perfect. I like to write drafts because it gives me a gist of how I want my writing to be. However, it takes so long for me to write one because of the amount of effort I put into it. 

Summary: Today in class we wrote a first draft for our Wild Argumentative essay. 

Reflection: Today in class I learned why writing a first draft is important.

 Writing Prompt: one time I was judged unfairly was being left out from a group of white girl. I have nothing against them but based of their facial expressions and actions towards me was different. All this time, all these years, I could have heard back from my sister. To not feel alone, to not feel outnumbered, to not feel pain, anger, and most of all, love. I could have been out of this place with Nettie's help. I could have fought Mr.____ a long time ago. However.....I would have never met Shug Avery. I don't know how to feel, God, excited or angry. Is this a sin? Summary: Today in class, we continued to read independently  Reflection: Today, I learned that it is okay to feel emotions. After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles

 Writing prompt: This book is definitely an interesting book I have ever read. I did not expect it to be such a strong and powerful message. I can feel Celie’s struggle in what to do in her situation. Experiencing rape at such a young age, she has a clear understand of what it is. Later her mother passes away, although she was not the best mother, she is left with her father that raped her and her sister. I honestly think this book already has me hooked and I can’t wait what happens next.  Summary today in class we took notes and began reading the story the color purple.  Reflection: I learned that letter tell a story too.
