Cities can also be an important part of a person’s cultural identity, shaping their values, experiences, and way of life. Think of a movie or TV show that changed the way you see a specific city. How was that city and its culture portrayed, and did it present a full picture or a “single story”? Explain how this portrayal could influence how people view those who live there.

Writing Prompt: My favorite Tv show is Called the Originals. I am aware it is not for everyone but it is about the supernatural. It is mostly based in New Orleans. At first, before watching this show, I always thought New Orleans was always about Mardi Gras, people getting drunk, and just partying. However, apart from the from of the TV show, it also shows how New Orleans is very famous for their warm community and family in general. In the  TV show, the Original family always fought for the center of New Orleans because that is where home is. Anyone that was form New Orleans will always fight for the culture to continue on and not murder the people there. Yes, there were major parties but that is not portrayed in a negative way. That is what makes New Orleans who they are and how the majority are connected to their culture. I don't think this Tv showed much of a single story, I think everyone on the show can all agree, in their own way, how the culture in New Orleans is what keeps everyone on their feet. Many can argue that it is a dangerous, horrible, and awful place. They get so caught up in the alcohol or appearance that they do not see the true meaning to it all.

Summary: Today in class, we started brainstorming on our group project.

Reflection: Today I learned about my topic for my project.
