How important is education in your life right now? Do you think students around the world value school the same way you do? Explain your reasoning.

 Writing Prompt: Education is very important in my life. I have the willingness to learn new things everyday. In addition, most of my education is history, so it would really help me understand things that are happening economically or in my country. I think there are various students around the world that value education the same as I do. Perhaps for different reasons, but they still do. Some people have easy access and some don't, for various reasons. Some students would love to even go to school. It also connects to what drives their motor, what they are passionate about. If anyone is passionate about anything, the first start is going to school. 


Summary: Today in class we watched a film called "On the Way to School", 


Reflection: Today in class I learned about how different children around the world travel to school.

 Writing Prompt: one time I was judged unfairly was being left out from a group of white girl. I have nothing against them but based of their facial expressions and actions towards me was different. We had to get into groups at random and learn something from each and every one of them. I joined this one group and since a few of them already knew each other they were open to other but not me. All this time, all these years, I could have heard back from my sister. To not feel alone, to not feel outnumbered, to not feel pain, anger, and most of all, love. I could have been out of this place with Nettie's help. I could have fought Mr.____ a long time ago. However.....I would have never met Shug Avery. I don't know how to feel, God, excited or angry. Is this a sin? Summary: Today in class, we continued to read independently  Reflection: Today, I learned that it is okay to feel emotions. Even tho you may not know what to do, feeling is an action too.

After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles

 Writing prompt: This book is definitely an interesting book I have ever read. I did not expect it to be such a strong and powerful message. I can feel Celie’s struggle in what to do in her situation. Experiencing rape at such a young age, she has a clear understand of what it is. Later her mother passes away, although she was not the best mother, she is left with her father that raped her and her sister. I honestly think this book already has me hooked and I can’t wait what happens next.  Summary today in class we took notes and began reading the story the color purple.  Reflection: I learned that letter tell a story too.
