Think about the most stereotypical film you have ever seen. This could be a movie that represents a specific culture, race, gender, or group in an oversimplified or unrealistic way. In your response, explain what film you are referring to, what stereotypes were present in the film, and how those stereotypes shaped your understanding of that group at the time
Writing prompt: I think the most stereotypical film iv'e seen are all the Tyler Perry Madea movies. I have seen almost all of the movies and the majority of them have the same stereotypes about black people. I have seen many things like, angry women, dysfunctional family, vulgur, unfaithfulness, and etc. Throughout my life, some of these stereotypes have already been planted in my head however, the Madea movies kinda confirmed it. When I was just a little younger, I would honestly be afraid of black people due to these movies. However as I got older, I learned to understand what stereotypes are and how to turn the negativity into humor. Maybe they are right or maybe they are wrong. However, I chose to ask a black person myself to confirm rather than just assume that is how they are.
Summary: Today in class we did an assignment writable about stereotypes.
Reflection: Today in class I learned how we see stereotypes in our daily lives including what we watch or what we read.
