Today, we explored how food connects to identity, culture, and belonging across the TED Talk, Fish Cheeks, and the Mississippi Delta film. How does food help individuals understand who they are, especially when they feel caught between cultures or judged by others? In your response, be sure to include at least one example from at least (TED Talk, Fish Cheeks, or the Mississippi Delta film) to support your thinking.
Writing prompt; Food helps because it reminds people where they come from and even if they feel pressure to fit into another culture. For example, in "Fish Cheeks", tan feels embarrassed by her traditional Chinese food when her American crush comes over for dinner. She worried about being judge and wishes she can be more American. At the end of the story, her mother reminds her to always be prime of her own culture.
Summary; Today in class we read fish cheeks
Reflection; Today I learned how people can feel the pressure of changing cultures. I was able to reflect on how I used to try to change as well.
