As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

Writing prompt; as the first semester comes to an end, one thing that I really enjoyed about multicultural is being able to Express myself. One thing that will very well that will be very memorable and something that I really enjoyed is when we made masks about ourselves and not only that making a storyboard about ourselves I really enjoyed it because I was able to reflect on myself and I was also able to see areas of improvement.  when it came to culturally, I feel like it opened a new side of me whenever it came to my connection with my culture. In general, I really do enjoy presentations whether it’s about myself or any sort of criteria. One area of improvement is definitely turning in my work and comprehending certain things. Of course, if I ever need any help, I know I’m able to ask Mr. Reese. I am very excited of what next semester will be like. Summary; today I was not present at school Reflection; today I learned that it is good to reflect on certain things and any mistake ...

Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does).

Writing prompt; now that it is about to be Christmas and New Year’s, one special tradition we always do throughout the years that I enjoy is that we get a glass of sparkling water or actual wine and we all say one thing that we’re thankful for. Although you will expect this to be mostly on Thanksgiving, we do it at every holiday because I feel like being thankful is something that means more. Another tradition we do is we honor our our parents with our most precious gift. In my situation, it’s only my mother however, this year, I’m planning to give her a meaningful gift. I feel like as I get older, I get to understand her more, not only as my mom, but also as a friend. I take advantage of this To have a fresh start with her every year for the upcoming year. Summary: Today in class, we continued watching the Color Purple movie.  Reflection; today I learned the difference between a movie and a book. Movies tend to go by the book however they can also manipulate it. I enjoy thi...

How have the holidays changed as you have grown older? Compare your experiences of the holidays during childhood with how you experience them now, focusing on shifts in perspective, responsibilities, or emotional meaning.

Writing prompt; whenever it comes to holidays for the majority, it is always the same every year. I can say that the most important thing when it comes to holidays is that you’re with family one thing I would never understand though is that if it is becoming a routine, why doesn’t it feel the same emotionally wise for the most part I  am always happy however it gets boring. What also impact it to change throughout the years is when my grandma passed away. Not only that but things that had happened throughout the whole year, we always tend to reflect on it when it comes to holidays or any type of celebration. However, it did change my perspective. I say this because I don’t wanna lie on how I feel. I don’t wanna change how I feel because it is a holiday where you’re supposed to be happy and joyful. I like I am planning to change that this year. I’m not saying I’m feeling angry or sad or not happy I just wanna be myself for once. Summary: Today, we started to watch "The Color ...

At the end of the novel, Celie reconnects with Nettie and forms more peaceful relationships with the people who once harmed her. Reflect on the theme of reconciliation. Have you ever restored a relationship, forgiven someone, or been forgiven in a way that changed you? How does the novel’s ending shape your understanding of forgiveness across different cultures or families?

Writing prompt; Throughout my 17 years of life, I have forgiven many many people in some cases some relationships weren’t restored. The most impactful one was with my friend Alondra. In my opinion, I really love peace. I Really love to have peace and on good terms with a person then they’re being beef. However, whenever it came to Alondra, it was always a constant routine whenever we would fight we would break up and eventually she would come back to me and I Would accept it with open arms. The reason why I’m saying this is because I am aware of her flaws but each time we break up and come back together we become strong stronger as a friend friendship, and that is something that I will forever be happy about. Summary; Today in class, we finished reading the book and began working on our literature circle project Reflection; today I learned that sometimes being at peace is letting go of something you love. Although it doesn’t sound right, I say this in a sense of something broke th...

Write about a song that brings back a specific memory.

Writing prompt; a song that brings me back to a specific memory is  Sunday Best by surfaces. It was a song that I currently haven’t heard in a while, but I know that whenever I hear it from time to time it brings me back to Covid time. It was definitely one of those songs that got my mind off of what was going on around me and helping me through that whole awful process. The song really gives a positive message and a sense of telling the listener to keep going and everything’s going to be all right. Summary: Today in class, we continued reading "The Color Purple" and worked on a worksheet.  Reflection; today I learned how to discern when it comes to a character from the beginning of a book and how they are at the end. Being able to tell the difference based off their actions, their dialogue and the reaction of the people around them.

When Celie says, “The God I been praying and writing to is a man. And act just like all the other mens I know,” she expresses disappointment, betrayal, and disillusionment. Discuss a moment in your own life when something you believed in turned out to be different than what you imagined. How did this realization shape your identity or worldview?

Writing prompt: There was a time when my father told me that I was part Cuban as well. I felt happy because I know I am Mexican, but to be able to say I'm also something else is unique. I've been telling people that I am also part Cuban for the last 6 years of my life. I also decided to study more about that culture. The language, the music, the food, everything got my attention. Until I spoke with my dad's mother, and she told me the truth. That was what he had said was a lie. It did feel like a part of me left. It was important to my identity. Expressing the Cuban part that was never there felt right to me. It broke my heart to hear this news. However, it also felt right to let it go.  Summary: Today in class, we continued to read independently, and we wrote a found poem.  Reflection: Today in class, I learned that the truth brings us peace. There are times when people do not ned to explain themselves, but you never know of the truth can bring peace to a person.

Pretend you are writing a blog entry as Celie; the moment you uncover the hidden letters. Describe what you would think, say, and do, and how this discovery would reshape how you see Mister and yourself. Reflect on why this moment would matter so much and how it would change your next choices.

Writing prompt:  Dear God,  Suddenly, my heart broke into pieces. Mr_____has all of nettie's letter she has written to me. Potentially, I did feel sympathy for the man. He has broken my heart. All this time, all these years, I could have heard back from my sister. To not feel alone, to not feel outnumbered, to not feel pain, anger, and most of all, love. I could have been out of this place with Nettie's help. I could have fought Mr.____ a long time ago. However.....I would have never met Shug Avery. I don't know how to feel, God, excited or angry. Is this a sin? Summary: Today in class, we continued to read independently  Reflection: Today, I learned that it is okay to feel emotions. Even tho you may not know what to do, feeling is an action too.

In Letters 46–50, Celie begins to see Albert more clearly—his flaws, his regrets, and the ways he changes when he is no longer in complete control of her. Their relationship slowly shifts from fear and dominance to honesty and distance. Write about a relationship in your life that changed over time as you grew older or more aware. What made the dynamic shift, and how did your understanding of that person evolve?

There was a time I was friends with this girl. I had been friends with her for over 3 years. Until now, I was able to realize what kind of friend she really was. However, I knew deep down it was my fault; I was still friends with her for so long. I was afraid to let her go and be alone. I was mostly living in her shadow and revolving her around my world. Until I was able to build the confidence to tell her no. I was not going to be treated the way I was. It was a matter of my pouring into her cup and her not pouring back. Leaving her made a huge impact on my life because it was definitely 100% of me. Now, I am willing to get to know people and grow with others.  Summary: Today in class, we continued reading "The Color Purple" independently and took notes.  Reflection: Today, I learned that it is okay to put yourself first. Whenever there is a win, take the win and leave a problem for another day.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

Writing prompt: During the break, I was sadly not enjoying it as much as I wanted to. The weekend of, I had gotten four of my wisdom teeth removed.
